I'm not that often proud of my hometown Halle, as it is a small city somewhere near Brussels that is still a bit behind in some aspects. But at the beginning of spring - which is end of April / begin May in Belgium - there is this natural phenomenon in our local forest.
The Hallerbos - as the forest is called - always colors completely blue in May due to the millions of hyacinths who are in full bloom. It is really lovely to walk through this blue carpet and enjoy the nature in its purest form. I can recommend everybody to visit this once in your life!
So that's exactly what we did on Labor Day. The sun was shining and it was the perfect weather to go for a walk. We were definitely not the only ones with that idea: people came from everywhere just to see these flowers! Afterwards we enjoyed a refreshing drink and a yummy ice cream. It was the perfect holiday activity to relax.
