Ma Muse de Mode: Emmanuelle Alt

For this weeks issue of Ma Muse de Mode, I chose the wonderful and talented Emmanuelle Alt. She became editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris in February 2011, succeeding Carine Roitfeld. She began her career at the age of 17 with a position at French Elle and she became the editor-in-chief in 1993. In 2000 she started at Vogue Paris as fashion director.

Alt has two children; Antonin and Françoise and her husband, Frank Durand, is the artistic director of Isabel Marant. Her mother was a model for Nina Ricci and Lanvin in the 1960s and '70s. So we can say that her life revolves around fashion!

Alt has a very youthful appearance and almost never wears make-up. She is often found dressed in her signature blazers and jackets, paired with jeans and towering heels. What I like about her is that she doesn't fits the typical fashion business personality: she doesn't bother about her hair and make-up, has never been to the gym, drinks Diet Coke because she doesn't like water and doesn't smoke.

For me she is the ultimate bohemian rock-'n-roll chick!
Read more about her in this interview with Telegraph.
